Video Tutorials on FWM

Video Tutorials on FWM You may have seen that HB Racing Driver David Ronnefalk has been sharing some great video tutorials lately, on Youtube and his Facebook Page.

We've found these tutorials give a great insight on how to prep the HB Racing D817, E817 and D817T ready for race day so have created a Video Tutorial page on the FWM website for all our customers to view. These videos are also a great help for other RC Brands too.

When David shares his next video we will add to the page too.

HNMC Winter Round 2 Report

HNMC Winter Round 2 Report This weekend FWM attended the Winter Series Round 2 at the awesome Herts Nitro Model Club where we were treated to another well prepared track by the HNMC team.

Over 80 racers were in attendance including a number of top UK National drivers so I knew I was going to have my work cut out to have any chance of getting into one of the top finals.

Having made a few minor tweaks from the previous round, changing the pistons in the HB Racing D817's shocks to 1.3 8 hole in the rear and 1.2 8 hole in the front, complemented with XTR Racing 37.5 and 32.5 Shock oils too. Along with Sweep Racing Carbide Yellow (Ultra Soft) tyres the buggy felt great through all 3 rounds of qualifying, even getting 7 laps in 2 of the rounds and missing out on the other by 1/10 of a second, which was my goal for the day.

Against some tough competition I managed to qualify 25th overall, just missing out on a place in the B final and on pole in the C final.

In the lead up to final, the weather started to get unusually warm for the middle of October and started to wonder if the Ultra Soft tyres were going to be too soft, so I decided to change to the Sweep Racing Silver (Super Soft) compound, which I'm still not sure if that was a wise move or not, but none the less, knowing that the Bullitt B-221 was able to do 10 minutes, I was confident I had an ace up my sleeve against a very strong pack of racers.

The final started well, missing out on the first corner carnage that we come so accustomed to these days and managed to build a small gap against some very quick drivers. A few bobbles and mid air clashes ensued which resulted in me falling back down the pack, but managed to keep the leading pack in sight. Unfortunately the 1 stop pit stop wasn't enough though and after a few clumsy mistakes I brought the D817 home in 4th place, 5 seconds off a bump up spot. Seeing that one of the guys who finished ahead of me then managed to bump up into the A final, I was pretty pleased where I finished.

All in all a great weekend of racing and it's great to see the HB Racing, Sweep Racing, Bullitt B-221, XTR Racing and Racing Experience package is working really well for me.

Roll on the next round of racing.

HNMC Winter Series Round 1 | Race Report

HNMC Winter Series Round 1 | Race Report Still buzzing from yesterday where I attended the first round of the Herts Winter series at the awesome HNMC (Herts) track in Ware.

We were greeted with a damp track and a light drizzle in the air so was expecting the worse.

Fortunately the rain stopped before the first heat went out and the track was able to dry out as the meeting progressed.

After a few small set up changes prior to the meeting, the HB Racing D817 along with Sweep Racing Carbides and trying out the XTR Racing diff and shock oils for the first time, the Buggy performed faultlessly through the qualifying heats putting me 12th overall.

Managed to get a clean start in the B final from 2nd on the grid and brought the buggy home in 1st place, having led for the majority of the race, bumping up to the A final against some strong competition!

The A final was a messy affair but was able to bring the buggy home in 9th overall (the highest Iíve ever been) so was extremely pleased with my overall result.

The D817 felt great throughout the day along with Bullitt B-221 Engine that didnít miss a beat.

Thanks to the HNMC crew for providing a great track.
